Hello fellow travelers of the sonic realm! I am to be your DJ for what I hope is a fine excursion into the soundscapes of music. I have been an explorer of the aural realm for pretty much my entire life. That journey started with stealing 45s from my parents and over playing "The Red Baron" and the backwards masked version of Napoleon IVs "They're coming to take me away Ha-Ha" incessantly (I can pretty much quote the entire thing backwards). Since that time I have done my high school stint in the caverns of classic rock, spent my college years as a dj of bluegrass and folk, and followed the Grateful Dead around when I could. I got my masters degree in in psychology with an emphasis on music and Buddhist psychology, joined the retail work force as the music manager of a big chain store, and now I look forward to creating my own music store in the near future. Through all this music has been my rosetta stone and my guiding light. Now that I am joining this fine team of progressive fanatics I hope to offer a journey into sound. I hope to turn you the listener on to something new, and I hope to hear from others what they are listening to. I tend to define progressive music very openly. You will of course hear old favorites such as Genesis and Yes, as well as the new masters of Prog: Spocks Beard, Porcupine Tree, and Marillion, but you will also hear forays into the jam band world and an eclectic mix of other music genres. I am always searching for the newest sounds, that which breaks new ground, or stomps on old ground with new patterns. During one part of my show I will hip you to the newest music in my world, that which I believe deserves some credit. On the second part of our adventures I will try to follow a theme within the music. Some recent examples are songs about robots, travel, and dreaming. Sometimes I will simply showcase the work of an artist that I feel deserves some attention. In the past I have given some time to the music of Steve Hillage and John Wetton. Through it all I look to my listeners to help me define where we are going and what we will see, but I promise we will have sonic adventures and discover why we all love music so much in the first place.

This was such a fun show to put together. I chased little gems around for a week, coming up with an amalgam of fun and holiday oriented music that did not necessarily pander to the normal holiday fare. The results are just a lot of fun and I am very happy to offer it to you to brighten your festivities for the week. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season no matter your faith. May the magic moose visit your house and help you clean.
