Brad (aka RushHub) and Lorena (aka RushWife) have been
listening to music together for a long time. Waaaaay back in junior high
they found each other and one of Brad’s first goals was to influence Lorena
into loving Rush as much as he did. He lent her his own beloved copy of 2112
to listen to but at the tender age of 14 she just didn’t Ged it. She
politely returned the album and life went on. Then Moving Pictures came out,
and Brad listened to it constantly while cruising in his 1968 Nova with
Lorena by his side. She started liking it-after all, how could you not like
Red Barchetta? From there it became an obsession, and Rush has been the
soundtrack of their lives. Even their daughters will suddenly break into a
Rush song at any given moment!
When
the internet came in to the picture, they found numerous sites where they
could connect with fellow Rush fanatics! First, it was The National Midnight
Star, and after it’s sad demise came other Rush Fans sites, where they met
the spectacular RushGrrrl (aka Grrrl)! Lorena couldn’t believe she’d found a
RushSistah- another female Rush fan! In the same town no less, and the
connection was sealed! When Grrrl found The Dividing Line and started doing
her Underdog Prog show, Brad and Lorena were hooked. They were totally bored
with mainstream radio and DLBN was just the cure! Although they were fans of
Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, King’s X, Kansas, and Genesis, there was so much
more that had come in under their radar. What a cool place this is!
So what is Rush Hour you ask? Brad and Lorena may be novices in the world of
Prog, but they know Rush and they love the community they’ve found at DLBN,
and wanted to get involved in more than just chat. Enter the idea of
RushHour – a weekly, one-hour show of Rush music, news, and trivia! Fellow
Rush Fans unite!!
