I grew up in California, with a bunch of hip older sibs that
loved the great progressive music of their time. The albums they brought
home are the ones I listened too at a very young age and shaped my musical
taste to this day. Many hours were spent listening to Yes, Gentle Giant,
CSNY, Joni Mitchell and the like. When I was 16, my younger brother decided
to teach himself to play the bass to 2112 in the next room. Over and over……
When I was ready to KILL him, he made me listen to what he was playing along
to, and I was hooked!
When I found the net a few years ago, I hooked up with some
Rush message boards and realized I was not alone! SO many prog music fans
out there, just waiting to be found by others like themselves. Underdog Prog
is committed to playing the b-side, under played songs that we all love and
never hear on the radio.
You will hear newer bands like Radiohead, Muse and Death Cab
for Cutie, as well as “new” prog like Spock’s Beard, Enchant and
Transatlantic.
