Headline says it all! Vince and Daisy Jane, former hosts of "Prog'opolis", will return on Saturday March 10 to fill in for the vacationing Shawn Bishop of "Behind The Lines". We're terribly excited for the opportunity and hope that each and every one of you will cancel your plans, put up your feet, fix up a drink, and turn us on.
Well this news (the best news in months and months) has finally done it. I have been an on-again, off-again totally anonymous listener of the DLBN for several years now.... but the return of Vince and Daisy has prompted me to get off my lazy ass and actually register so I can just post this message! There has never been a better show than Progopolis (and Schizopolis before it too, in nascent form) and I dearly miss listening to Vince and Daisy (I would never listen in real time but only in the archives). The humor and interplay between the two of them had me laughing so hard on numerous occasions that I literally had people asking me what the matter was. Man how I miss them. Vince, even your marvelous old list on Amazon.com (Get Subversive) rocks!!! Thanks to you I've discovered so many new awesome artists/bands that I never would have otherwise explored (Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, Vienna Teng, Explosions in the Sky)... heck, you even got me back into the mighty King Crimson and their various side projects (I've gotten into Brian Eno via Fripp playing on some of his albums)... I just can't say enough about the on-air brilliance of Daisy and Vince. Your chemistry can't be replicated by any of the other exellent DL hosts (I do love Mary on Saturdays and Lurker on Fridays too)... Anyway, sorry for this long "mash" note... I just am that happy. Maybe the "Bish" can take regularly scheduled vacations.
Prior... as you could tell if you listened on Saturday night, we're unable to express our gratitude for your message adequately. And as I stated on the air in this most recent episode of "Behind The L'opolis", it's easy for us to forget that people actually listened to our show--some of them even enjoying it as you did! Thank you so much for the kind words. You have really inspired us to go forth with the podcast idea and we hope that you'll be among the first to listen when it finally gets rolling!
