As some of you may know, I recently finished graduate school and have, since, been on the hunt for work and other means of sustaining a lifestyle that aspires to be indebted to more than Top Ramen and Charles Shaw. As part of this mission, I have accepted a job with the Bureau of Land Management for the summer. I'm going to be working as a ranger in the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument in Montana. This position will have me in the field 6 out of every 7 days, thereby precluding any ability to broadcast my Monday evening show. Of all the reasons I could think of not to take this job, this was the most persuasive. In the end, however, I simply couldn't turn down the opportunity.
Now, this email is not an official death notice for Progressive Concepts. The work is seasonal, covering only the summer, and assuming I have a teaching job to slide into in fall, the show could easily be restored to its former glory sometime in September or October. Right now, though, everything is up in the air. Regardless of the future of Progressive Concepts, I've had nothing but fun hosting this show and chatting with listeners and DJ's alike.
Progressive Concepts' last broadcast before I leave will be Monday, April 23rd, in the usual 10:00-12:30 PST slot. There will be no broadcast on Monday, April 16th as I will be on the east coast trying to solicit post-BLM work. Thanks again for all the support and progginess that you all have offered me, and I really do hope to be back on the internet airwaves come fall. Everyone have a great summer!
Ok, so I've decided to make this trip to Montana a bit longer than expected so I can spend a couple of days in Zion National Park along the way. This mean, unfortunately, that I'll be leaving on the morning of the 23rd, making the new "last" show on April 9th.
Here's to a great last show for you Dana! Thanks for bringing a great show to the station and I have high hopes that we will see you return sometime in the fall. All the best to you and hope you'll keep in touch!
