I’m afraid I have some bad news to deliver. I just learned that our friend and popular DLBN DJ, Dave Plummer is in the hospital and has been diagnosed with cancer. As you know, he recently announced that he’d be taking a short break from doing his show for health reasons. By the sound of it, I doubt he even knew at that time exactly what he is dealing with. I don’t have many details but apparently his prognosis isn’t good. The cancer has spread from his colon to his liver. I’m sure you will all join me in keeping Dave in our thoughts and prayers as we respect his family’s privacy in this dark time. Updates will be posted here and on our message board as information is received. I don’t know what else to say.

This was posted this evening by DaveP's wife to the DLBN Mailing list...
Thank you all so much for you concern and support. I want you all to know how much DLBN meant to Dave, both the listeners and djs. It is amazing to me still how close I feel to so many people I have never met in person.
Dave passed this evening............there are no right words right now. It has been an incredibly hard week and there are so very many people that Dave has touched, I can't begin to tell you the amount of support and love me and my family are receiving. For the specifics, it was a rare aggressive cancer that spread quicker than the tests came back and certainly quicker than any doctor there expected.
Dave found a home here at DLBN and I wanted you all to know how much you meant to him. If the DJ's don't mind, and I can figure out his backasswards way of programming here, I would like to do a memorial show for him sometime in the future. Until then I will let you all toast him in your own ways and remember him for the wonderful man he was to so many people.

I’ve had a number of requests for information about DaveP’s funeral service, where to send flowers or donations, etc. Mysti sent me the link to his obituary. All of the information is there.
Dave's ceremony was incredible. I was amazed at how many folks' lives he'd touched. Lot's of folks I haven't seen since High school showed up. Amazing person, Dave. And MUCH loved. Folks, I don't mean to preach, but GET A COLONOSCOPY if you are over 40 yrs. old. PLEASE!
