Every few years a musical event comes along that is destined to become legendary in progressive rock circles. Like Kevin Gilbert’s stunning re-creation of Genesis’ “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” and Nick D’Virgilio’s awe-inspiring production of “The Shaming of the True”, this summer in the sleepy foothills of Uptown Whittier there will be just such an event. Led by Spock’s Beard’s Nick D’Virgilio, an all-star line-up of today’s finest prog musicians will assemble as the headlining act to pay homage to the giants who spawned an entire genre of new music. You will hear immortal epics from bands like Yes, Genesis, Kansas, Gentle Giant and King Crimson restored to their original magnificence and performed with a freshness that only these musicians can deliver.
This will be a day long celebration of the re-born prog-rock movement featuring some of the most talented bands of today. We are still in negotiations with the supporting acts of the event at this time, but this promises to be the beginning of a brand new tradition in progressive rock music.

The idea of creating an event to pay homage to the classic music and prog bands of the past using currently active musicians and bands...genius. Not only will it be a chance to experience some classic music live, but also an opportunity to become better acquainted with many of the quality musicians out and about today!
Genius.
And yes, in addition to the music, a chance to rub shoulders with other DLBN listeners...what could be better, I will definitely be there!
Jim, although I am not nearby, certainly let me know if there is anything I can do to assist in the planning and pulling-off of this event. And I really mean this too.
Thanks Bob. I'll deposit that in the "Offer Bank" and withdraw it if needed as the event gets closer .
Deposited it is! Consider my door opened should a need arise.
::slaps both jF and Gruno:: Alright you two...that references a legitimate need regarding CalProgDay...I can already see the "need" you two would be thinking!
