Anyone else here a Thomas Dolby fan? Some of his stuff is really good?  Surprised nobody plays him on their shows.

Joe, how long have you been coming to the shows here? To say nobody plays them would mean you have listened to the shows but then you would have heard Thomas Dolby on my show for sure. In the last 3 weeks I played 2 tracks from him. Check out the show.

I am a definite Thoms Dolby fan...although I have not been a huge collector of his cds.  For a good overview of Dolby's work (some of which you would probably recognize Shawn) check out "Retrospective - The Best of Thomas Dolby" and for a taste of some of his 90's vintage stuff rather than his "Blinded Me with Science" era, try "Astronauts & Heretics".

Dolby...a musical innovator or sorts.

I have also played Thomas Dolby on my show fairly often. My favorite is the EP "Blinded By Science". The songs on that appeared on the "Golden Age Of Wireless" album, but different versions...not quite as good as the EP IMO. Drop by ProgRoots on Sunday evenings and I'd be happy to play some.

Guess I  just haven't caught you guys playing him.

Check out "Budapest by Blimp" or "Pulp Culture" on the Aliens Ate My Buick album...great stuff.

I'm the same way Bob...I have the Retrospective CD too and I absolutely love it...but for whatever reason (I'm such a jerk), I haven't purchased any of his other cd's. I find myself doing that alot with various artists and I end up feeling like a jackass when I say, "oh I love them..." when I only have one cd by them. Embarrassed

lol...that's Flat Eric. He stars in a video that I'm in love with. The video is called "Flatbeat" and it is by Mr.Oizo. If you can find it online somewhere you should watch it. Here are links to other videos and clips of his...

the only one that works on this page is him riding with the queen...

I think these all work...

T. Dolby rules! Aliens Ate My Buick is the only record I ever bought that came with a money back guarantee. Loved it so much that I never even considered taking it back
