RIAA Broadcasting Fees Question
« on: January 30, 2004, 08:38:39 am »

Hi, I am considering starting a web radio station with a non-prog emphasis.  I wondered how the RIAA fees were handled...I have heard they are $500 per year and $0.07 per song per listener, but I am confused about whether this applies to web radio or just to FM stations.

Thanks for your assistance.  Keep up the good work!

Hey JC!

It really all depends where you base your station.  Since there are different laws & organizations for different areas, there is no one answer to that question.

Take it easy,

This may answer some of your questions, or make you want to take a long walk off a short pier Tongue

Rene...great link that.  Not so great regarding the information the link shares, but it is interesting to see how whacked the whole internet broadcast thing is or is getting.

Botton line....long live DLBN!
