Is it just me, or are any of you just not interested in what "big name" artists do every now and then to "please" the fans?
When I first heard about the Phil Collins Wembley VIP seating, I thought "Cool! get to meet Phil, hang around in a fancy VIP room, etc." And the more I started getting into the artists featured on DLBN, the less interested and appealing it was for me.
I've always dreamed of shaking the hand of the man that inspired me to become a musician. But if you ask me, 500 pounds (and a trip to London) is a little too much just to shake his hand and see his concert.
I am deeply overwhelmed by the interaction that can be acheived by up and coming indepedent artists, for example Izz and Little Atlas, as well as big names, like Marillion. They care so much about who their fans are, and are always thinking of ways to please them, no matter how big they may get; something my favorite band, Genesis, sadly was never interested in acheiving.
No offense to Phil, I'm still a huge fan, but I'd rather spend hard earned money supporting these artists who really try to give me, the fan, the best out of them.
