I just started listening to him a few months ago. He is amazing. I got "Elegant Gypsy" and a really cool live CD with him, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia called "Friday Night in San Francisco"     Cool

I'm a fan of Al's. I have only a few CDs, but I've seen him in concert twice. I'd be happy to play some of his stuff if you drop into the chat on Tuesdays for Strange Universe.

Al's my hero. I've seen him numerous times live going back to the mid 70's with Corea and RTF. I think he was 19 then-but incredible. My favorite solo LPs of his are "Kiss My Axe"(more fusion) and "The Infinite Desire"(jazzier). He and Holdsworth are my favorite guitarists.

Al is Da Man !!! He has had some major impact upon many of today's great guitar players. JP, MJR to name a few. Alan Holdsworth, who I had the chance to hang with at the last DT show at the universal. It was his first chance to see JP play. He had heard quite a bit of talk that he was once of JP's idols. Alan was so kool, had a great time with him. One of my guitar teachers spoke about a time when he would hang out at this apt close to Berklee and all these cats would come by to hang out. His teacher was Pat Metheny, (Another Guitar God). He said that He, Pat, & Al, would hang out and watch TV then go out and Jam.  Those were the days Man..... Cool Cool Cool
