The New Shady Groove

Howdy listeners,
I was out at a local jazz bar last week and the live band kept me on my ass for their entire 3 hour set (as well as the Moosehead).  That band was The New Shady Groove.  A Toronto based Funk-Fusion band which contained some incredible talent and groove.  After the show I picked up their album and needless to say its terrific.  Fusion and Funk fans need to hear this, it's very fresh, in all senses of the word.  The New Shady Groove has been touring extensivly for some time now and it was just by fluke that I ended up in the same bar that night.

I'll be playing about 15-20 minutes of the album on Overnight Sensation this Wednesday night and am already in the process of contacting their managment about a possible interview with some or all of the members.  These guys are NOT just a touring bar band, they have covered Herbie Hancock - they're the real deal.
