Alientar debut CD...check it out...
« on: September 16, 2004, 10:15:17 pm »

Hello there,

Just getting acquainted with the site. Good music around here. Figured I'd plug our band. If you have a moment, check us out. If you like it, please let us know.
We're Alientar from Santa Cruz, CA. First album is just out.

We are on the psychedelic prog/space side of things. Those types of songs would be the tracks: "Music Box", "Hypnosis", "Stuck to Earth" and "Bizarre"...it's in mp3 format for FREE on our site, along with vids, etc.

Thanks for the site and discussion group!
-Jason

Hi Jason,

You might want to contact our own Papa J, who is always on the lookout for prog talent for his 'Steamers Prog Night' series in Fullerton.

Cheers,

Thanks for the advice. I did contact him...and plan to reply to his message this weekend. Fullerton is a bit far for us,though...but Fractal is from here and they're playing down there and they just came to one of our shows...so hopefully they can let us know how it went...We hope to do a show with them soon up here.

We're down in Mobile/Fairhope AL, where we just got a bit of wind and water last week...

Not a huge Progressive scene down here, I think Atlanta GA is more likely.
We're doing our best to grow one down here, they seem kind of receptive to our Ambient/Progressive/Art-Rock approach, as we like to call it.

You guys ever come that far South?

That IS south...I was thinking LA as being "south"! : )  It could be awhile before we get that far...but if you're in northern CA ever...check our site and calendar for gigs. Thanks again for the interest.
