For those that haven't already heard, I'm happy to announce the birth of a brand new special series on The Dividing Line. Starting in less than a week's time DLBN will be bringing you new shows hosted by various artists who have been making significant contributions to the progressive rock genre. Conceived by our own Alistair Henry (Momentary Dementia), this series will feature monthly shows from each of these artists which will be an exploration of his or her own musical influences when writing their own material.
The first of these shows we're bringing you will be hosted by none other than... yep you guessed it... John Galgano from IZZ! DLBN is very happy to welcome John to our team of DJs. His monthly show entitled "Dangerously Awake with John Galgano" will air the first Thursday of every month from 6pm to 8pm pacific time. Here are some words from John on the show:
"At its best, music stirs the soul, awakens the mind and softens the heart. Different types of music do different things for different people. On this show, we will celebrate the diversity of music - music for the soul. My biggest fear in life is that even if I live to be a hundred, I won't have time to discover all of the amazing music that's out there. I hope this show, in some small way, will allow each of us to discover something new and perhaps allow all of us to become dangerously awake."
IZZ fans will definitely want to check this out as I know John has some very cool stuff planned. Expect the unexpected (and maybe even unreleased). So mark it down, Thursday October 7th, from 6pm to 8pm pacific time, Dangerously Awake with John Galgano!
We're currently in the process of getting more highly regarded artists set up to do their own shows, so as soon as we have the word, I'll be posting about their shows also. Thanks all and hope to catch everyone on Thursday night!
Great feature! This simply reaffirms that the DLBN is the place to be for original musical entertainment. I eagerly await the first installment of John's show.

By the way, that was a great show! John is a natural. He even introduced me to some music that I'd never heard that was pretty good. Like that... uh... what's his name? Well, even the great GALGANO can't fix my short term memory gaps.
John did a fantastic job, especially considering this was his first run 'ever'. He was planning to pirate to get the hang of it but didn't end up having the time. So what we all heard was his first time ever broadcasting for longer than 30 secs. The dude definitely is a natural. Today I put up his show page and archive so feel free to have a listen. His playlist is also posted.
Remember everyone, the next show is tomorrow (Thursday November 4th) at 6pm pacific. John will be in chat hangin and spinnin the tunes so if you're around you should definitely check it out!
Yep, I'm really surprised his mic sounded as good as it did! He bought a radio shack wireless headset mic for the Ampersand premier and has been using it ever since. It's amazing how clear both his voice and the guitar were. I figured either you'd hear his guitar and huge distortion on the voice, or voice only with quiet guitar in the background.
We're currently in the process of figuring out the technical aspects behind a future webcasting event sometime soon. That will be extremely cool.
My radio show, Dangerously Awake on www.thedividingline.com will return this Thursday, March 17 at 9 p.m. ET. I have a lot of cool stuff to play and I'm psyched to be back on the air doing the show. Hope many of you can join me! Fun is guaranteed!
Hope to see some of you in Lowell on April 22...first gig with lots of new material for us to play!!
