I've noticed several DJs playing this William Shatner stuff and I simply must know...WTF? Is it that you just think it's funny because it's Shatner? Do you genuinely get off on the music? What?
I'm not knocking anyone. I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from because I don't get this Shatner fascination in any way, shape or form. Please, enlighten me.

Ha yeah like we all stick to prog 100% of the time around here anyways.
Hey, don't be dissing William man! I think it's just the weirdness factor... William Shatner releasing an album, and it's actually really good too (which is even stranger). It's produced by Ben Folds and features many of today's prominent musicians. The lyrics are actually very witty and well written. I'll play him on BTL and be happy about it!
Maybe you won't suffer, maybe it's quick, but you'll have time to think... "why did I waste it? Why didn't I taste it? You'll have time!" cause you're gonna die!!
Robert Downey Jr. and Regis Philbin are making albums too but I don't hear those being played. So I wondered why Shatner, specifically? What has he done that the others haven't? Weirdness factor? I suppose it is weird, in a way, but it's really kinda more dumb than weird. So...yeah...still not getting it.

I played more Shatner tonight because of this thread and got a negative reaction... argh! It's all about the Shatner I tell ya! The album is actually pretty funny!
Well, musically it's all Ben, who I love. Joe Jackson and Henry Rollins are a bonus.... I am admitting it FB, also admitting that I once was a HUGE Star Trek fan So this album is hilarious to me, and since it's my show...I play it! HA!
Spit out the gum, it doesn't work....

William Shatner = comedy gold. Be it in music or acting or interviews.
Thank you! It's so true. The guy is funny as hell. I recently have found myself hooked on the new show "Boston Legal" in which he stars along side Candice Bergen, James Spader, and Monica Potter. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
