Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son  One of my favorite metal albums of all time for sure, and probably my favorite Maiden album as well.

Riverside - Out of Myself

Still one of the most intriguing albums of 2004. This band just kicks my ass on so many levels. I can't wait to see what they come up with on their next effort.

Rogues' Gallery archive

What the hell? I requested a couple songs from Frans and then went to bed, so the least I can do is give the archive a listen.  ;D

Yay OGG!

Spock's Beard - 2005 - Octane: This is not a bad CD.  It's still not classic beard by any means, but it's definiately a good album.  It has many high points, quite a few more than Feel Euphoria in my opinion.  Seems like these guys have found their footing and are falling into a new sound.  Also the image factor definiately comes into play which I can take or leave, but the music is pretty decent.  Still nowhere near the genius of the Neal era imo, but worth a listen for sure.

Matthew Good Band - 1995 - Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts:[/u] I can't seem to be getting enough of this album lately!  It's SO good.  It makes me happy inside!

Genesis - Abacab  Oh my god...this is attrocious!  I really like Invisible Touch but after one listen through this I'm disgusted.  "Who Dunnit?" is perhaps the worst song I've ever heard and after the first listen the rest is give or take.  I only need one more album to complete my Genesis collection...that is the self titled one...I sure hope its better than this thing.  It took me forever to dive in Collins-pop era Genesis and I've liked half and disliked half.  This is the reason I've been afraid to go past Duke all these years...I'll give Abacab a few more listens to perhaps sink in.

Pat Metheny Group - Speaking Of Now  This album rules. One of my fusion favs of the 21 Century so far.

Rush - Hold Your Fire  Prime Mover has been my favorite Rush song for years and Hold Your Fire is amazingly consistant.  I could never pick a favorite Rush album but this one certainly graces my cd player/turntable almost every week.  With classics like Mission, Force Ten, Time Stand Still, Lock & Key, and Turn The Page not to mention every other track, this album is perfection in my books (along with pretty much every Rush album).

Ha, not an uncommon reaction to Whodunnit.  I'd say the high points of the Abacab album as far as prog is concerned would be "Me & SarahJane" and "Dodo".  For Pop it's got "Keep It Dark" which I've always liked but I'm in the minority there.  "Man On The Corner", "Put Another Record On" are both pretty cool for the pop side of things, and "No Reply At All" is very Phil solo sounding so that's either good or bad depending on how you look at it.  "Like It Or Not" is a rutherfod song with quite a lot of passion too but not one of my all time favs.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Dream Theater - When Dream and Day Unite

I just found this re-released version for $9.99 at FYE and since I'd never really heard all of the songs, I picked it up. There is some great music on this album but I don't care all that much for Charlie Dominici's voice. Not that it's a bad voice, it just seems better suited for a neo-prog band than a prog metal band (IMO, of course).
