CalProg - Who's Going?
« on: March 07, 2005, 10:12:16 am »

OK, jF already owes me a couple beers from last year, who else is buying this year???  Grin

I'm bringing my daughter this year, and one of her friends. They go to more shows than I do, time to give them a taste of Dad's music. I think BB is going, anyone else around here?

BTW, besides Gary and Mike, anyone else going to be at RoSFest?

Joel's pulling the double fest again this year? Wow...moneybags. lol

It would be a fun show to go to, no doubt about it, but I can't quite make the dollars stretch that far since I added ROSfest this year and my four months of unemployment last year severely reduced my tax refund this spring. Enjoy CalProg and hoist a few around the pool for me.

I can't make it due to the fact that I can't afford to take any time off from my personal life this year (mind for Rushcon). However I would have loved to see TFK with Gildenlow.

Yes, indeed, Joel, count me among the joyous who are attenting CalProg '05!  Four rows from Stolt and Gildenlow, I can hardly wait.  It should be an epic journey, a phenomenal concert experience, and a major blast, to say the least.  I look forward to meeting you and everyone there.

I'm still undecided on this.  I do want to go, but it will depend on who else ends up going down.  Because I only want to see one of the five bands performing there (IZZ), the big thing for me is the people I'll get to meet while there.

I know this may sound cliché, but there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The theater only holds about 400 people, and the acoustics are very good. Ample slope in the floor means you shouldn't have to strain to look over people's heads. And you can't beat the intimate access to all of the musicians, both Friday and Saturday nights, and of course, in between acts, as anyone who attended last year can tell you. Damn, I'm starting to sound like a marketing guy... PJ, pay up! Tongue

Of course, feel free to email him and ask what's left, he won't bite, unless you ask him nicely.

Joel, btw:
Chances are almost 100% that I'll be in the USA this summer. As you know, my sister lives in Des Plaines, but I will spend a week with her and her family in the UP. But I hope to have some time available on 7th or 8th of August. Maybe we can arrange a meeting. Smiley

That would be most excellent Jürgen. Des Plaines is very close to Mark and Rayna as well. We'll definitely have to get together then! Keep us informed.

Yes, definitely keep us posted on your trip.  Mark and I are right next door to Des Plaines!

Mark and I are taking a pass on CalProg this year althoguh we expect it to be an awesome show.  Too much money to spend to see a band we've arlead y seen three times (IZZ) and two times (TFK).

We are, however, still contemplating ROSFest if there are still tickets left.  We really want to see the Friday night show with Arena.

Rayna,

I wouldn't wait much longer if you plan on going. Talking to George, there are very, very few left. It's gonna be a great weekend!
