I voted for Rush out of the bands you listed, since they have clearly not fizzled after 30+ years of filling our ears with sonic bliss, but the band that to me still writes and performs music that is as challenging, complex, awe-inspiring and downright beautiful as just about anything they did during their "classic" period is ....

KING CRIMSON!!!

To see what I mean, listen to the Crimson Connection on Prog'opolis on Saturdays.  (Vince and Daisy, please contact me so I can let you know where to mail the check for my PR fee.  Wink haha)

As much as I like Rush I would have to say the most significant and dynamic classic band would have to be King Crimson. No other band that I've heard has challenged themselves as much as KC. I only have a few of their albums but I'm getting more and more hooked thanks to the Crimson Connection with Vince and Daisy Jane.

If it looks like I've repeated a lot of what BB just posted that would be no surprise to the regulars in chat, lol.

I picked RUSH as the Band that is still around and recording on thier own terms. Vapor Trails and Feedback demonstrated the continued creativity of the band.
I am not sure who to say that I think has fizzled the most maybe Pink Floyd just because as individuals they continue but as a band they seem to be history.

for me the greatest-still-around-and-touring band is Rush. My heart just broken everytime I have to decide between Rush and Pink Floyd. I vote Pink Floyd.  Undecided

Not that they are really all that relevant anymore but Deep Purpleis still around.

My vote has to go to Rush.

King Crimson isn't a band so much as it is a brand name at this point. Rush has the same line-up together for over thirty years now. I doubt that all the members of King Crimson would fit on one bus. lol.
