How many albums have you bought from listening?
« on: December 14, 2005, 09:58:28 pm »

We were just listening to Scozart's show tonight wondering how many real purchases people have made by hearing bands & artists that they heard first on The Dividing Line.  This poll is limited to the last year only.  People who vote might also want to post a little testimonial to impress the individual artists or labels in the near future!  Grin

I would have bought many more but money can be a pain to come by at times. If only I could just spend it all on new tunes Cheesy

Please refer to the "what was your last CD purhcase" thread to see that I have indeed acquired a veritable shitload of great new music since I discovered the Dividing Line.  Sure, I haven't posted there in a while, but don't let that be any indication that I have suddenly stopped purchasing music.  Quite the contrary.  I was simply getting carpal tunnel from typing out everything I get.   Grin

To offer one example... my current buying binge (hey, another meaning for "BB"! ... LOL) has been focused on Gentle Giant, a band I am almost ashamed to have not been familiar with until very recently, since they so perfectly fit the profile of all that I love about epic progressive rock.

It is hard for me to remember a specific number but I would say the I would not have purchased
Porcupine Tree's Deadwing, Warszawa or Lighbulb Sun
Transatlantic's "Bridge Across Forever"
without the influence of The Dividing Line.

If I post the answer to that question here I'll not be allowed to listen to the Dividing Line anymore  Grin

( be sure, you can't count it on the fingers of your both hands  Wink )

Thanks to the DL last year ended for me in total bankrupcy. A few records I bought thanks to DL DJ's are:
Kino
TORTOISE Millions now living will never die
PT Warsawa
OSI
Spock's Beard Gluttons for punishment & Octane special edition
Gordian Knot (both albums)
Kate Bush- Aerial

And the list goes on and on......
