A One-Year Overdose of Music ... And Counting
« on: January 30, 2006, 05:11:55 pm »

One year ago last week, I was doing a little web research about the upcoming CalProg music fest when I found and clicked a link to The Dividing Line Broadcast Network...  I had heard only a bit of another online station before, so I was basically brand new to the world of internet radio.

The DLBN home page announced a special interview with Daniel Gildenlow was being broadcast the following night, and I was going through a major Pain of Salvation/Flower Kings listening phase at the time, so, right away, I downloaded the winamp player and the chat program.  I figured, hey, what better way to get acquainted with internet radio!

So I came back the next night ... listened ... chatted ... met some like-minded music geeks ... heard some fantastic music for the first time ... and enjoyed it so much I came back the next night ... discovered more music, met a whole bunch more cool people ... and so on ... and so on......

And then a year went by....!

It's astounding to think of all the great artists and bands that are a major part of my regular listening rotation today that I did not even know of only a year ago!  Thanks to all the awesome DLBN DJ's, past and present, and to all the awesome listeners as well, for sharing your passion for unordinary music.  The past year will be a year I remember for my many blissful musical discoveries and experiences (don't EVEN get me started on all the great shows this year! LOL) and for all of the great new friends I have made along the way.  Smiley

Cheers and happy listening!!

Here! Here!  Even as a DJ, we get exposed to so many new and exciting artists and styles that it's as exciting for us to be a part of this "music machine".  Who has time for AM/FM anymore?  We have DLBN!

Congrats and cheers, BB!

Happy anniversary there BB - what a great post!  We're happy to have you here and it's great to see that this great group of people is growing all the time.  Would you mind if we added your post to the letters section of the site?

Cheers,

A whirlwind business trip to Phoenix allowed me to finally meet the amazing BB in person!!! We met at the Best Western, drove to dinner in giggles, listening to Gentle Giant! Dinner was awesome, convo flowed naturally  Smiley

Then off to the magic cd store!! This place has cds I would never find at home, I mean.... it was PROG heaven! Who knew??

BB... it was too short a visit, but what a TREAT!!

Next time, you visit the great NW!
