Sometimes the universe offers up something amazing and organic that just flows and takes you away to distant places. This show is one of those times. You should go and download it and see what I mean.
Highlights- New music from The Road, Galactic in the Jam Session, Riverside's song of the week, and our theme Return to the Library with lots of great literature inspired prog.
I had so many wonderful suggestions from you guys that I could not get to everything. But, I decided that we should have a regular book club. Each month I will anounce a new book (do not call me Oprah) that has inspired some, or several pieces of progressive music that we will explore at the end of the month. This month's selection is John Gardener's "Grendel" which we will check out at the end of May. So make your way to your local store and ask the person at the info desk if they have that new book for the Soundscape Book Club. When they look perplexed, you should say, "Oh you know, that progressive radio show everyone's talking about" (say this with as southern a drawl as you can- if you do not know how, just add a syllable to every word). You can then of ocourse tell them about the show, how much you love it, and how much they should listen to it. Then they will tell 2 friends, and so on lol.
Next week- Criminal Prog Please send your suggestions for progressive songs about crime, murder, theft, rape, assault, speeding, selling, and whatever have you.
And 2 weeks from now (finally) Contradictascape (upbeat music with sad meaning, downbeat music with happy meaning)

Actually it was a very fun show with new music all over the place and of course that crazy theme idea Contradictascape in which song lyrics and music do not quite match up. Also a nice interview with Rob Cottingham from Touchstone as we dig into the mysteries of the Mad Hatter's Song.

I needed a week off of the theme thingy, but the music will still be a lot of fun. Lots of new stuff and some cutting room floor moments.
Next weeks theme comes to us from Greg Jones (listener and Pinnacle drummer): "I had an idea for a show "theme" and thought I'd share it with you - if you don't want to do it, I'd understand. Just wanted to share the idea.
All prog fans lament the fact that our stuff once ruled the airwaves (or at least held its own with all the other stuff) - and I always hear progfans complain about new stuff that comes out and doesn't get any airplay in today's market. Who among us HASN'T said or thought "Why, THAT song is SO HOOKY, that if they only LET the public HEAR it, the band would be HUGE and start having HITS!"
So this is what I want from you guys: If you were to pick songs that should have made airplay, but did not due to the fact that radio has been contemplating its own navel for the last 20 years, this send me your suggestions. I look forward to your suggestions. Until that time sate yourself with this setlist.

I had this amazing blog entry that would detail and direct you to all of the great music to be foudn here within, but I hit the back button, and to the ethereal winds they did go. Despite that amazing frustration, I here make note that the show is upn and ready for your perusal. The blog will come later after I clear the tears from the keyboard.

A fantastic show if I do say so myself. Included is new music from Black Bonzo, Quodia, Frogg Cafe and Shadow Circus. The centerpiece is the interview with Glenn Snelwar of "At War With Self" along with lots of examples of what the new album "Acts of God" is all about. I abandoned the playing card theme for this week in hopes that I will be able to put it together for next week. Please enjoy the show and let me know what you think.
