The 5th part in our ongoing history lesson, starts with some King crimson, and cascades its way to the end in which Deep Purple take us on a Moody Blues like vision of combining orchestra with band. Aside from that check out the amazing "Bullet" by then newcomers Renaissance (not the Annie Haslam version that you have come to know). The show is shortened due to the battle between man and machine, but you will still find a hefty helping of lesser known historical moments.
The History lesson will continue, the second week of January. In the meantime, our next weeks show is being born out of the chaos of new and powerful vibrations that have orbited me for the past 2 weeks.
I have discovered, that Christmas and New Years Eve, are both on Tuesday this year. With that in mind, there will be 2 weeks that Soundscape will not air in it's normal timeslot. Instead I will look for pirate time and I will alert you all to when said pirate time comes about.

Soundscape #90 Rain Dance This weeks show was a rain dance. We played rain songs, songs that would encourage the rain for those areas who need it. Of course this is true for Georgia, but it holds even more true for some countries in the middle east. So we summoned The Rainmakers in hopes of quenching our thirst. Well it did not rain in Georgia, but we had a fantastic time with the show at any rate. Look for new tunes by Lana Lane, Riverside, Tangent, and many more. If you have never had a listen to Soundscape before, this is one of the shows that you should start with.
Also for those of you who are Queen fans, I did my moment in the DJ spot for Dividing Lines Queen Show "The Show Must Go On".
Next week, in honor of the coming holidays, we will take a look at toys and christmas wishes. If you have a toy song that you would like to see played, or have any other toy you would like to see under your tree, drop me a line, and I will make sure that Santa Woody takes care of it (musically speaking of course).

Well here we are again back in 1970. This week features music from Tull, Crimson, VDGG, Atomic Rooster, and the little known Quartermass. Still some minor glitches due to new equipment and the learning curve, but overall if you liked the music of 1970 you will like this show just as well. Add to this a dash of news spots from the time, and some small smattering of archival ads and you get a healthy helping of the year 1970.
Next week we will check out music inspired by Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", as well as the usual Soundscape madness. If you have any favorite LOTR inspired songs that you would like to hear, please drop me a line and let me know.
In the meantime you will find the archive of this weeks show here: www.thedividingline.com/ss It should be ready to pick up by this afternoon.

With all of the hype about making episode 100 it was tough to decide just what would be an appropriate celebration of such an achievment. I decided to put together a list of song favorites but as I was putting them together, I began to notice an emerging theme or story if you will. This was an idea long in the making for Soundscape, and something that I have been toying with trying out for a long time. With my recent discoveries of both Jim Ladd's Headsets and Ghost Circus's Across the Line, my enthusiasm for telling a story was even more engaged. So here for the first time is a musical pastiche wrapped around a story. Hopefully the music takes you on the journey itself, but perhaps the narrative I offer will help you along the way offering some handholds in what could easily be a sea of Chaos (No offense Simon). If anything, the story serves to tie a lot of great music together and achieves the ultimate idea behind my show, to create a landscape of sounds. The story should be up by this morning for your downloading pleasure at www.thedividingline.com/ss
