Archives down?
« on: October 27, 2003, 01:13:59 am »

Tried to listen to Jimīs show a few times, but the archives seem to be down.
Right?
If so, when will they be accessible again?

I just tried PapaJ's archive and it started up OK. Please try again...let us know if you still have problems.  There was some network trouble on the weekend that was randomly affecting sites but as far as I know it has been resolved.

Oh, I now know the problem...  Wink
I forgot that the archives require Real Player, while you can listen to the live show with Winamp.
Seems I have to install Real Player again...  Undecided

Hmm, seems I still have a problem...
I d/l RealOne Player (the free basic player from here: http://www.real.com/realoneplayer.html?pp=choice&src=101603r1choice_c1_1_2_1_1 - free RealOne Player link on the upper right under the questionmark.)

Everytime I click on an archived show, it says "page cannot be displayed (might be removed or renamed)".

What can I do??

Jurgen, it sounds like your browser is acting funny. I listened to Grrl's show yesterday with no problem. Try right-clicking the link, and "Save Link Target As" or "Save Link To Disc" or something similar. That will save an icon to your desktop. Right-click and "Open With" Real Player. It shouldn't be all that complicated, but for some reason, it doesn't sound like your browser is handling RTSP properly.

Oh my... Got it started.

But the only thing that works by now is:
- right-click on the link for the archive
-> properties
-> copy the address
-> open Real Player
-> open file
-> paste the address in there

Roll Eyes

Oh well, but now I can listen!

Maybe try an uninstall and reinstall of RealOne.  It should help reassociate the files.  Another person came to me with this not too long ago.

Or make sure the RTSP box is checked in your Real preferences:
Preferences/Media Types/Real-Time Streaming Protocol
