They couldn't view it because it's encoded with a Windows-only codec. Another example of Microsoft's anti-competitive, monopolistic practices. Sad thing is, most Windows users don't even realize what's going on.

Oh, the woes of the romantic Mac user. DivX codec has absolutely nothing to do with Micro$oft. And it's available for Mac. I always laugh when the Mac user goes into defensive mode and brings up the security patch issue. If you were a would be hacker, would you target an OS that effects ~3% of computer users?
ahh... but if you were running a PC DivX would have already been included on the OS. So, with PCs it's not necessary to know what's going on.. which would account for why it's 97% more successful than a mac. Sure they're better for audio editing and video production, hands down.. but for a personal system, there is WAY more available for a PC... no contest!

Ahhhh but as I said, Macs are indeed better for audio / video editing. My claim is that the PC is better if you want a more enhanced personal computing experience. If you do, then more does = better. However, that being said, Macs have taken a very important step forward with OSX being linux based. This will open up the macintosh systems to all the freeware apps that people in the linux community are developing, and that's pretty cool.
OS X is UNIX based......The Macintosh was unleashed on the world in 1984.....no command line shit with underlying DOS bullshit.....you didn't have to be a programmer to know how to run the damned machine. 99% of the world were NOT programmers at that time......(it's still like 95% even now.) An easily navigated GUI made the make 100 times more user friendly than ANY IBM clone. I believe Windows XP is the first 'stand alone' OS for IBM clones EVER? Way to go Bill....give 'em the same kind of (though inferior to) OS Mac has had SINCE IT WAS INTRODUCED. As for the 5% of the market that are Mac users, that is growing steadily since the intro of OS X...now you can have command line if you want, if your not a programmer, you still have the most user friendly GUI on the PLANET.....if you still insist more is better...what would have happened if Mac had had better promotion back in the 80's? It could very well be THE IBM clone generation sitting out there in 5% land. Once again, more does NOT equal better. They need to do those 'taste test' type things with actual people on the street like they used to with Coke and Pepsi......
