Welcome here/back (delete as you feel appropriate), Steve!

Couldn't agree more about the Agents of Mercy album - to my ears it knocks the recent Flower Kings releases into a cocked hat. I played quite a bit of it on the European Perspective a couple of weeks back, and got some excellent feedback.

01. Magenta - Metamorphosis
02. The Tangent - Not As Good As The Book
03. Brighteye Brison - Believers and Deceivers
04. Pendragon - Pure (I have no idea why I didn't play this in my review!)
05. Abel Ganz - Shooting Albatross
06. Karmakanic - Who's The Boss In The Factory (again, didn't play it, should have)
07. Martin Orford - The Old Road
08. Frost* - Experiments In Mass Appeal (even though it's a pop album  :) )
09. Yak - The Journey Of The Yak
10. It Bites - The Tall Ships

Oh yes, and there was a load of American stuff too ;)

What I think is interesting is that Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull are often cited as being progressive rock acts, and neither of them (to these ears, at least) qualify in the way that Genesis, King Crimson or Everton, Snake and Parsnip might.

Oh well...

The Dividing Line / Problems with The European Perspective #5
« on: January 04, 2009, 05:11:07 am »
A couple of people have informed me that there was a problem with the podcast for TEP #5, whereby it stopped after a couple of minutes, followed by several minutes of silence, and then restarted towards the end of the programme. Not sure what caused this, but it looks as if the gremlins have been busy again!

I'm updating with episode 6 today, so for those of you who would like to hear 5 - which is my pick of 2008 - in it's full glory, you can do so by going to my own archive site at:

Have the appropriate amount of fun :)

Thanks you for the intro, Shawn - I'll do my best to live up to the hype!

If anyone has any requests, suggestions, abuse etc, then gets to me - how surprising!
