I have to say this is a very cool thread!  It's really awesome to see that we are evidently succeeding in our station goal to introduce our audience to new and interesting music that most likely would not have gotten heard otherwise.  Fortunately I've been introduced to endless amounts of music thanks to everyone here.  I'd say the list is as follows:

Spock's Beard
Kevin Gilbert
Devin Townsend
Proud 2 B Weird
Porcupine Tree

Just to name a few!

I am curious to see which band out of the list above is currently the most popular with DLBN listeners.  I'll leave the poll open for the next week or two in order to give everyone enough time to respond.

I've never heard of them before.  What's the story on them, where are they from etc?

Noooooo!!!!!   :o And your pond survived the July 4th fireworks but not racoons.  That is no good, no good at all I say!  Perhaps you can build a new one... that way you can ice scate on it during the winter if it gets cold enough, but then again I suppose that doesn't happen in San Fran

I have heard a couple of their tracks and they're not bad.  I didn't stay for the accoustic set when I saw them live with Alistair.  We wanted to get back on the road ASAP and lucky for us, the Tree started first.  They're not a bad band though although I understand they are a bit harsh at times (opeth)

Ok this isn't fair.... we come to U and I can't think of one prog band that starts with U.  Perhaps that's because it's 3:20am right now, but still... you'd think I would be able to think of something, but I can't.. I suck!

That just sucks!  Hopefully we will still be able to work something out though, as we've had DJs here broadcast on dial-up with a few minor settings changes.

It was a fun thing to do.  Tom is doing some editing to the archive but he should have it sent up to me within the next week if all goes well.  The quallity of the archive will be a hell of a lot better than the one you guys heard live (for strange reasons I don't want to get into as I'm too tired) :)

Vancouver, Canada.  Land of trees and rain, at least during the winter.

Woohoo Message Board!
The DLBN message board lives!  This has been something we've been talking about for awhile now, so I'm glad it's finally worked out and everyone likes the idea.  Hopefully this will be a forum for all sorts of wonderful insightful conversations about all the great stuff that goes on here.
