Hi everyone. We received this update from Eric Arthur's wife and she asked us to pass it along to the Dividing Line community:
Hello, Dividing Line Team --
I'm Vicki Arthur, and my husband Eric is host of The Dividing Line's "Love Letters" show. I know that a good friend of his informed you that his show has been suspended due to a medical crisis. Now that things have stabilized a bit, I wanted you to hear directly from me about his situation.
One month ago today, Eric suffered an unexpected and severe stroke in his brain stem. After a hospital stay of nearly four weeks (much of that in the intensive care unit), he was moved a few days ago to a local rehabilitation hospital. We remain hopeful, although his long-term prognosis is unclear.
We've had Eric's iPod playing almost continuously for him since this ordeal began, and it's loaded with nearly 1,400 tracks -- mostly prog, of course! One of the first tracks to pop up randomly while he was in the ICU was "Comfortably Numb" . . . to which his neurologist, a Pink Floyd fan, remarked, "God works in mysterious ways . . . "
Eric's podcast was one of his greatest passions in life, and I hope and pray that he may one day return to it. In the meantime, I ask that you share this information with his friends at The Dividing Line and anyone else you believe might be interested. Eric's dad and I have been posting updates on a website called Caring Bridge. Eric's page may be accessed below:

Warmest regards,
Vicki Arthur
