What are you listening to today?

Thought this might be an interesting thread to start up.  What are you all listening to today and why?

Kaos Moon - The Circle Of Madness:[/u] Only just picked up the CD and so far have really been enjoying it.  It's prog with a fresh infusion of originality.

Matthew Good Band - Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts:[/u]  A favorite for over a year even though it was originally released in 1995.  This album has a great mixture of catchy riffs and passionate melodies, ahhhh.

Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Live Art  Because I'm in a very relaxed mood...yet are still in the mood for technical intensity.

Genesis - Invisible Touch Just picked this up around Christmas time and really enjoying it.  Every track is clicking for me.

Frank Zappa - Bongo Fury Zappa and Captain Beefheart live...why the hell not!?

nope!  there's still abOOt 4 G. albums i've yet to pick up   (all Collins era) :P  i've been waiting out on these for years and when I finally heard anything past Duke I thought....what the hell?....this is actually still great music!

It totally is!  True there is more of a poppy element to the music, but listen to a track like Domino or Tonight X3 (the middle solo section) and you'll still hear the prog.  "We Can't Dance" has just as much prog joy, if not more.

honestly......right now i'm listening to the interstellar overdrive archive and cannot believe how great it sounds compared to the old realplayer version.   wow........ i be impressed !!!   ;D :o ;D

Pain of Salvation - Be  This album is bloody amazing, been listening to it non stop for months since it was released and am looking forward to asking Gildenlow all of my questions about it this weekend!  Seriously if anyone hasn't heard this - give it a shot it's very rewarding.

I got sick of listening to the ventilation of my PC while burning dozens of safety copies from my CD collection. And I thought it was time for some heavier stuff.
But again I realize how diverse and great that album is.

Galleon!  I have started listening to that CD too and it has some high moments that's for sure.  I haven't braved "The Ocean" yet as it's so freggin long and I don't want to break it up.  But so far my favorite tracks on the first CD are "Fall of Fame" which I originally got into after I heard you play it on your show actually!  I also like "The Porch" which has a beautiful melody to it.  The lyrics on this CD are a little cheesy but the music is awesome!

Miles Davis - Various albums from '65 - '68  such as ESP, Nefertiti, Circle in the Round, Sorcerer.  I've just been in the mood for this particular quintet and have been awake all night working on my computer so it's been the perfect companion.

King Crimson - 2003 - The Power To Believe:[/u] I still proclaim the production level of this album kicks serious ass.  It's so cool to see a band that's been around since the 60s so willing to experiment with the leading edge of technology, especially since they're used to a method of recording that's so different than what we have today.  Peter Gabriel is also similar in this way.  You gotta respect that!

I NEVER get enough of that album.  One of my all time favs!  In fact...I'm gonna listen to it right now!

Just finished listening to PoS, BE. Great.

Just turned on the archives of Healing Colors of sound. If that intro song is from OCtane    :o :o  WOW - that's serious stuff! Can't wait till it shows up in the mailbox.

This is going to be a cool show to listen too! Great idé

Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element Part 1  I love returning to this album finding new things to appreciate about it.

Miles Davis - Milestones  Probably my favorite Miles Davis album as a whole.

Strung Out - Exile Into Oblivion  New Strung Out album is growing on me but I still don't like it as much as their earlier releases.

Stan Getz - Serenade in Blue Just relaxing in a great mood right now.
